Since the weather has got a lot colder over the last few weeks, my skin has started to suffer more.
It seems that exfoliating & rich moisturiser, as well as hydrating face masks & Skin Balm, are not quite quenching my thirsty skin.
So, whilst fretting in front of the mirror, my mum suggested i use her “Quick Fix method”…I know that some you may already do this, or it’s not a new discovery, but i just thought i would share it with you as it helped me a lot.
You will need:
♥ Bio Oil (Or a cheaper alternative which is actually exactly the same – I also use Rescue Oil, which is £1 from Poundland) I would also like to stress that Bio Oil is SO much cheaper on amazon than the high street retailers. Go see if you don’t believe me.
♥ Water
Yup, that’s all you need.
What to do:
♥ Dampen your face or the area that you wish to hydrate with water (I would personally just recommend you do your whole face, there is no harm in doing this).
♥ Using clean hands, smooth the bio oil all over your damp face. I would suggest you do this when you know you don’t have to be anywhere in the next few hours, as you’re going to look a little sweaty/oily…naturally. So possibly at night, or if you know you’re not going anywhere during the day. Although saying that…i have just done this..and it’s all sunk in after about 30 minutes…my skin is clearly parched!
♥ That’s all you need to do. The water helps it to sink in much faster than it normally would, and it’s a lot more hydrating. It’s also amazing if you have a lot of blemishes on your skin as the bio oil diminishes them in time. I would also suggest you do this over night as a skin treatment if you’d rather not do it in the day.
Hope this has helped some of you! If you have any questions, do not hesistate to ask. :)

That's a good idea for the winter. I brought some Bio Oil a while back but haven't really used it, I'll definitely try this to hydrate my skin. Thanks :)
Woah I was always sceptical about this but after reading your post I might actually try it! I am also suffering from dry skin and it's not a very nice view >_< Never would I have thought that I would get dry skin since it is mostly oily or maybe it's changing now? Nevertheless, only time will tell :)

I've heard about using Bio Oil on the face before but I have always been worried about breaking out from it.
I do this sometimes :) Seems to work well aswell as help fade any red marks i may have too. Never tried the cheaper version though!
sounds great (:, is it just for dry skin? X
@Holly – Well, i would reccommend this for dry skin only, as it's essentially oil on your face, although saying that, my mum's skin is mostly oily and she does this every once in a while as she suffers redness, and the bio oil seems to calm it down & gets rid of blemishes also. :) x
going to try this as I have very dry skin, sounds great :) xx
I've never tried Bio Oil but will consider giving it a go especially as my skin isn't very good at this time of year
xx
awww i wish i have dry skin… seems soo much easier to relieve than my combo/oily skin >_<
<3
I do this on my body after a shower while my skin is still damp as I have scars from surgery and it works really well for that too, although not sure if you have dry skin on your body so this may or may not help lol!
I really like Bio Oil but have never used it on my face – will defo try this as my face is soooo thirsty :)
I'll definitely have a go of this as my skin is extremely dry at the moment! x
I've never tried bio-oil, might try it with my australian tea tree based facial oil…although once I have worked my way through some more products I definately need to pick up some bio-oil to try. Btw I think they often stock this discounted at tj hughes.
