One of the best things about Christmas is that it gives you plenty of excuses to feel a little bit fancy! Whether it’s getting ready for parties and celebrations, or just dressing up for a festive evening at home, it’s the perfect season to wear your favourite outfit and spend a little extra time on your hair and makeup, just for the fun of it.

In my most recent video I’m sharing my go-to look for the festive season. With glowy skin and a bold red lip, it’s perfect for parties and gatherings, or even just to dress up your favourite Christmas jumper!

Starting in the shower, I washed my hair with the Pureology Hydrate Shampoo and Conditioner. I like to curl my hair so make sure to prep it before hand with a heat treatment, my favourite of which at the moment is the Davines OI All In One Milk. I blowdried my hair and then applied the Ouai Hair Oil, and then curled it using the NuMe 5 in 1 Curling Wand.

For my face, I started by prepping my skin with the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo+, it’s perfect for keeping blemishes at bay and reducing any redness, and I followed that with the Tata Harper Clarifying Moisturiser.

My current favourite base combination is the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation, paired with the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer to brighten under my eyes and hide any blemishes. Together they add a lovely natural looking glow without being too heavy. For my cheeks I added a little bit of contour and warmth with the absolutely classic Hoola by Benefit, added a soft blush with Hourglass’s Ambient Lighting Blush in Incandescent Electra and highlighted with the Fenty Beauty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in Girl Next Door/Chic Freak.

For my brows, I used a number of Benefit products. Benefit are the reigning champions when it comes to brows as with 10 different products available in 6 different shades, there are plenty of options to create the perfect brow look! I started by shaping my brows using the Brow Zings kit and filled in any gaps using Precisely, My Brow Pencil. It has a tiny precise point which creates really natural looking strokes, and a spoolie on the other end which is always useful! To finish off, I set my brows with the 24 Hr Brow Setter, a clear setting gel which holds brows in place and keeps them neat and tidy.

If you’re unsure about doing your brows yourself, pop along to a Benefit BrowBar or Boutique to speak to a brow expert – all of their BrowBars around the UK offer tinting, to add colour and fullness, and waxing services, to shape, define and tidy your brows. Getting them styled professionally makes them much easier to maintain on a day-to-day basis, and if in doubt, it’s always worth getting some professional help!

For eyes, I started with the Too Faced Shadow Insurance Eyeshadow Primer, followed by the new Clover Palette by Too Faced, and used the shades Cuteness Overload, Puppy Eyes, Paw Print and Cuddle Buddy. I then used the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Liner to create a classic cat eye flick which works so well with bold lip colours as it adds definition without being too bold. For mascara I used Smith & Cult’s Lash Dance.

To finish off and complete the look, I applied the ColourPop Liquid Lip in Creeper. If you’re going for a bright or bold lip, I’d always recommend a matte liquid lip like this one as it stays in place for so much longer than a traditional cream lipstick. And there you go! You can watch the video to see how I applied each of the products. What are your must-haves for a festive makeup look?
